Neil Thanedar '10 Wins Super Bowl Contest with Startup America Partnership

Neil Thanedar '10, founder of Avomeen Analytical Services is the winner of the Startup America Super Bowl contest and will be attending the Superbowl with Startup America CEO, Steve Case.

From the Startup America Website...

The Startup America Partnership is based on a simple premise: young companies that grow create jobs. As a core American value, entrepreneurship is critical to the country’s long term success and it’s time to step up our game.

So far, we’ve assembled more than $1 Billion worth of commitments from dozens of partners to support the growth of startups in five key areas:

Expertise: Connect startups with training, mentors, advisors and accelerators
Services: Provide startups with access to critical services at reduced costs
Talent: Assist startups in recruiting, training and retaining the people that can help them grow
Customers: Help startups through acquisition of new customers and expansion into new markets
Capital: Highlight sources of capital available to startups in various regions and sectors

Save the Date: 10/12 to 10/14 MI Alpha Centennial Anniversary and House Dedication

Alumni Weekend 2012

The details are still being put into place, but all plans are a go to close on our new chapter house at 730 Tappan in less than 3 weeks. And the timing could not be better as Sigma Phi Epsilon is set to celebrate its 100-year anniversary at the University of Michigan with a brand new permanent chapter house this fall.

A Grand Reunion Weekend is being planned for the weekend of Friday, October 12, through Sunday, October 14 to coincide with our Centennial Anniversary and a formal banquet celebrating our new home. Planning is just beginning, but we are anticipating a weekend full of events including:

- Group hotel packages
- Alumni/Undergraduate Golf scramble on the 'U' course
- Stag dinner and cocktails evening followed by a late bar night out in Ann Arbor
- A varsity football game between the Michigan Wolverines and the Fighting Illini of the University of Illinois
- Depending on game time, either a catered tailgate at the new house or a post-game reception with cocktails and hors d'oeuvres
- Guided tours of the new chapter house and museum of alumni archives - with mementos dating back to the early part of the 20th century
- Raising the banner to celebrate another IM Championship
- Shuttle service to a joint undergraduate/alumni formal dinner and house dedication banquet
- Sunday alumni brunch

As you can see, there's still lots of work to be done, and if you would like to help with the planning for a portion of these events...or help getting the word out...please e-mail us at uofmsigep@gmail.com. Otherwise, please make sure you at least SAVE THE DATE. More details will come soon!
