Dear Brothers and Friends of Sigma Phi Epsilon,
Happy birthday...to us! This year marks the 100th anniversary of the founding of Sigma Phi Epsilon's chapter at the University of Michigan, the Michigan Alpha chapter. As one of the many components of our 100-year celebration, we are proud to announce the publication of a memory book illustrating the storied past of our brothers over the last ten decades.
Did you know that:
...The Michigan Alpha Chapter has called seven different places home? Four in the last ten years?
...Up until Lloyd Carr's retirement, the varsity football team gave an annual award named after a Michigan Alpha brother?
...Our brothers have gone on to impressive professional heights, including upper level executives for Major League Baseball, Emmy-award winners, even a regent at the University of Michigan?
...Three of our brothers have gone on to serve as Grand President of the national fraternity?
We are asking all of you to take a moment and send us 2 or 3 photos, a story about the brothers in the photos, and -- if possible -- the names of everyone in them. We have some artifacts going back to the early 20th century to fill in the beginning years, but we need help filling in the rest. Can you take a moment and take advantage of your chance to immortalize some of your college memories?
If you'd like to send by US Mail, please send to:

Or if you wish to save time and postage, please scan a high-resolution photo and e-mail to uofmsigep@gmail.com. Alex Prosperi ('10) is the editor of the Wolverine Newsletter and will happily scan your photos and return them back to you. This book can't and won't be great without you; we hope you find a moment to take a trip down memory lane and rummage through your old photos. To date, we've quietly asked for some submissions to gauge initial interest, and the response has been heartwarming. We think you'll enjoy revisiting your college days as much as we've enjoyed seeing what you've found.
Thanks and HFF,
Jerry Mangona ('01)
President, Michigan Alpha Alumni Association
Doug Buczak ('71)
Past President, Michigan Alpha Alumni Association
p.s. Don't forget to save the date (October 12-14, 2012) to join us for Homecoming Weekend and our Centennial Alumni Weekend and House Dedication. Details to come...click here for more information about the event and all things Michigan Alpha.
